By combining our strengths, Uplanders are expanding the defense industry footprint across the region. Three regional nodes, two major universities, a growing innovation ecosystem, and public-private collaborations encompass a growing defense cluster in the Indiana Uplands.
The university’s talent pool and increased focus on defense-relevant research, combined with the city’s available commercial real estate and amenities, are a growing draw for defense contractors. A burgeoning entrepreneurial culture is also creating an attractive and high-value business environment for development.
A State of Indiana Certified Technology Park at the front door of NSA Crane, WestGate@Crane’s network of large and small defense companies, with access to educational and innovation services, is integral to the defense sector’s innovation ecosystem.
Located in Bedford, the East Gate Business and Technology Center hosts a spacious complex, home to manufacturing, office, and lab spaces close to NSA Crane and nearby amenities.
